It’s hard to find anything bad to say about Jaguar’s new F-Type. Currently available solely as a roadster, the coupe’s official debut is just a couple weeks away at Frankfurt. While there’s been plenty of talk regarding the near endless possibilities for even more powerful F-Type variants, one particular letter combination has our full attention: the F-Type R-S Coupe. Now we have proof that Jaguar fully intends to build it thanks to our intrepid spy photographers.
A prototype was just spotted doing some early testing but the actual production version is still at least a year or so away. How can we tell that this isn’t just a standard F-Type coupe? Simply put, it’s the brakes. Those yellow calipers are bigger than what you’d find on the regular F-Type and our photographers in the field claim that the words "Jaguar Carbon Ceramic" are stamped on them. They’re basically very similar to the brakes found on the hardcore XKR-S GT track car. This test mule F-Type also has cross-drilled brake rotors, something else that’s not available on the F-Type at present.
