2014 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Prototype Up For Auction

Because you need to own something that's completely nuts.
Anyone looking to own a Mustang GT that’s been equipped with a supercharger? If so, there just happens to be one hitting the auction block later this month at the Barrett-Jackson event in Las Vegas. This 2014 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet is a one-of-a-kind NHRA-ready drag racer powered by that familiar 5.0-liter V8 along with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. All of that drag race-ready power is sent to those big rear wheels via a T4 three-speed racing transmission.

Some additional cool features include a three-link suspension, lightweight racing brakes, Recaro racing seats, unique Cobra Jet-branded wheels, a wheelie bar and a roll cage. Proceeds from the auction will go entirely to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This Mustang Cobra Jet prototype was actually used to certify the 2014 Mustang Cobra Jet production run for competition. A new Mustang Cobra Jet from the factory starts at $97,000. The winning bid also includes a tour of Ford’s Product Development Center, Ford Racing and the Ford Design Studios with the Mustang’s chief engineer.
