0-62 mph in less than four seconds without a windshield? Yes, please.
Revealed at the Singapore Grand Prix, the new Caterham AeroSeven Concept previews the carmaker’s brand new extreme speedster that’s slated for production in 2014. With no windshield or roof to speak of, the concept comes with new carbon-fiber bodywork and is based on the underpinnings of the Seven CSR. There’s a distinctive front fascia, massive grille and LED headlights that hints at the brand’s new design language, while power comes from a Ford 2.0-liter inline-four that sends 237 hp to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual.
0-62 mph is said to come in at under four seconds thanks in part to optimized aerodynamics via the F1 team’s CFD software, and upgraded equipment including recalibrated suspension, adjustable traction and launch control systems.
