Hennessey Turns the McLaren 12C into a Cruise Missile

It's so fast it could possibly even avoid radar detection.
If Hennessey Performance upped the performance output of the Ferrari 458, then it would make sense to turn its attention next to the McLaren 12C. And that’s just what those Texas-based horsepower fanatics did. Called the Hennessey McLaren HPE700, John Hennessey himself claims the car "broadens our reach in performance tuning in European supercars. Both midrange power and torque are bumped, but the real hair-on-fire ride begins from 4,000 rpm to the 8,500 rpm redline."

The bottom line here is that output has been increased to 704 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque, a power boost of 88 hp and 96 lb-ft. This allows for a 0-60 mph time of just 2.8 seconds and a quarter mile sprint of 10.3 seconds at a 137 mph. The extra output was found thanks to an ECU software update, and upgrades for the intercooler, heat exchanger cooling and the stainless steel exhaust system. Every upgraded 12C comes with a Hennessey numbered plaque and exterior badging. The total cost for the upgrade costs $19,500 which, obviously, doesn’t include the price of the car itself.
