La Liga outfit line up sensational swap deal with Chelsea?

downloadMetro suggest that Chelsea could swap goalkeepers with Barcelona in the January transfer window. Reports from Spain indicate that Petr Cech could replace Victor Valdes at the Camp Nou with the Spanish international arriving at Stamford Bridge as part of the deal. The 31-year-old Barca shot stopper’s current contract expires at the end of the season and he appears ready to depart the Catalan outfit next summer. However this departure could now be brought forward with the Blues aiming to bring him to the Premier League when the window opens at the start of next year. Negotiations have reportedly started with the SW6 club willing to match his wage demands of around £150,000-a-week as Jose Mourinho lines up a replacement for Cech at Stamford Bridge. It appears that these reports have forgotten about the brilliant young Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, and has been lined up by the Blues as the long-term replacement. Funnily enough, the 21-year-old has also been linked with a move to Camp Nou as Valdes’ replacement although he could also make Cech surplus to requirements in the near future as his potential rises further. In truth this all seems unlikely as we can’t see why Chelsea would want Valdes, 31, when they have the supremely talented Belgian international among their ranks.
